Carolina Notes
• Tar Heels drop their fourth conference game in a row and ninth in their last 12 games.
• UNC is 8-9 overall and 1-5 in the ACC.
• UNC is 1-5 in the ACC for the second time and the first time since 2001-02.
• UNC is under .500 for the first time since losing the season opener against Santa Clara to begin the 2004-05 season
• It's the first time UNC is under .500 on January 18 since the 2001-02 season. UNC was 5-9 on 1/18/02, then lost its next two and seven of the next eight games.
• Carolina has lost four consecutive games for the second time this season.
• Carolina has lost five consecutive ACC games for first time since 2002-03. It's the fourth time in UNC history the Tar Heels have lost five ACC games in a row (twice in 2001-02 and one time in 2002-03). UNC has never lost six ACC games in a row.
• Carolina trailed 47-27 at the half. It was the second time in four games UNC has trailed by 20 at the half (Georgia Tech).
• Pittsburgh scored 23 points off 16 UNC turnovers. The 23 are the most by an opponent this season (previous 21 by UCLA and Georgia Tech).
• Carolina scored 24 of its 56 points as second-chance points. The 24 points are a season high. Previous high was 23 in a win over Alabama.
• Pittsburgh shot only 37.7 percent from the floor. That's the third time this season an opponent has shot under 40 percent from the floor in a win over UNC (also Virginia and Wofford). It's the most losses against teams that shot under 40 percent since 2014-15 when it happened four times. In the previous four seasons, the Tar Heels were 52-3 when holding the opponents under 40 percent. This season, UNC is 7-3 when that happens.
• Pitt shot 22.7 percent from the floor in the second half (5 of 22). It's the first time Carolina held the opponents to under 25 percent from the floor in a half in a loss since Iowa shot 24.2 percent in the second half in Chapel Hill on 12/3/2014.
• The Panthers made one field goal in the last 15:10.

• Brandon Robinson made three three-pointers and had 12 points. He's made 23 threes in the last six games.
• Bacot and Brooks made 12 of their 27 field goal attempts. The rest of the team was 7 for 33 from the floor.
