CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina senior Khazia Hislop was named East Atlantic Gymnastics League Specialist of the Week for Week 3 on Tuesday. Hislop's third-consecutive award comes after posting her season-high score on floor on Saturday against Pittsburgh to help the Tar Heels secure the comeback win.
Hislop scored 9.900 and placed first on floor at Saturday's home meet against Pittsburgh. She also posted a 9.850 on vault to tie for first on vault, and a 9.800 to claim second on beam.
Hislop is currently averaging the highest score in the EAGL conference in all three events she competes on with a 9.875 on floor, 9.867 on vault, and a 9.833 on beam. Hislop is also currently ranked 20th in the nation on vault for the 2020 season.
Hislop's team-leading score on floor, and second-place finish on beam played a significant role in the Tar Heel's comeback from 1.475 points down heading into the second half of the competition against Pittsburgh.
The Tar Heels are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 1 as they travel down the road to Raleigh to take on NC State at 7 p.m.
