October 14, 2020 | Men's Soccer
CHAPEL HILL -- Undefeated North Carolina (2-0, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) moved into the top five of the national rankings this week on the heels of its 1-0 win over previously No. 3 Clemson on Oct. 9.
Wake Forest remained No. 1 in the latest NCAA Division I Men's Rankings, as announced by United Soccer Coaches. Behind the Demon Deacons, the men's top five saw one change this week with Carolina sliding into the top five at No. 3. Pittsburgh was still No. 2 with Kentucky fourth and Virginia fifth for the third straight week. Clemson fell out of the poll.
The Tar Heels will return to action on Sunday Oct. 18 at top-ranked Wake Forest.
Due to the pandemic, only teams competing in the fall are considered for the fall rankings. The number of teams appearing in each ranking is also lower due to the lower number of teams competing. The men's poll consists of a Top Five national ranking and the women's poll features a Top 15. There are no regional rankings.
