Navy Completes Five-Game Sweep To Win The FWS

Chapel Hill, NC --Â Â The Navy team broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the top of the sixth inning, then added two more in the seventh and final inning to take a 5-2 win and complete a five-game sweep to win the Fall World Series on Thursday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Navy was awarded a run in the top of the first when the inning was rolled over with men on first and third with two outs to save Austin Love's pitch count. Clemente Inclan's two-run homer to right in the second gave Blue a brief 2-1 lead before a Danny Serretti sacrifice fly to left tied the score at 3-3 in the third.
Navy took the lead for good in the sixth when Dallas Tessar drove in a run with a single to left. Navy plated two more in the seventh on an error and a wild pitch.
Will Sandy started for Navy and gave up two runs in 3.0 innings. Max Carlson came on in relief of Sandy in the fourth and threw 2.0 scoreless innings. Tanner Quick and Gage Gillian then each followed with 1.0 scoreless innings. Austin Love started for Blue, with Connor Ollio and Kyle Mott throwing in relief.
