LOUISVILLE, KY. – It was a tale of two halves for North Carolina as the No. 1 Tar Heels (8-0-0) defeated Louisville (4-4-0), 3-1, to cap off a perfect regular season road slate.
In the first half, the Tar Heels hit the crossbar on one shot, the post on another and had a goal called off because of an offsides call. The second half could not have started differently; Carolina connected on two goals in the first 10 minutes.
With the win, North Carolina is 37-0-3 in its last 40 regular season ACC matches.
Early in the contest, Rachel Jones connected a strike from outside the box to the back of the net in the ninth minute, but the Tar Heel attack was called for offsides which negated the goal.
