Ben Kiernan is up for the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week honor after his outstanding performance last week against Notre Dame. He averaged a career-high 50.6 yards over seven punts. He placed five of seven punts inside the 20-yard line. Three punts went for more than 50 yards, including a season-long 62 yarder. Kiernan's five punts inside the 20-yard line were the most by a Tar Heel punter since David Wooldridge had six against Georgia Tech on Sept. 10, 2005.

• Carolina is third in the ACC to Notre Dame and Clemson in 3rd-down conversions at 45.7%.
• The Tar Heels lead the league in touchdown percentage in the red zone at 75.0 percent.
