Carolina Notes
• Tar Heels improve to 11-17 overall and 4-13 in the ACC.
• This is the 13th time in 17 seasons a Roy Williams-coached UNC team has won both regular-season games against NC State.
• The win snaps a seven-game losing streak, the second longest in UNC history.
• It was Carolina's first win since beating NC State in Raleigh on Jan. 27.
• Carolina fell behind 7-0 at NC State on Jan. 27 and the Wolfpack led tonight's game 10-0.
• NC State led by 11 (13-2). That was the largest deficit in a UNC win this season (previous nine vs. Elon and Yale).
• It was the first time UNC fell behind by 10 or more points since the 2018 ACC Tournament in Brooklyjn when Miami led UNC 14-0 (UNC won that game, 82-65).
• Carolina shot 50 percent from the floor in the second half, the seventh time it has done that this season (UNC is 4-3 when it shoots 50 percent in the second half).
• Carolina was 3 for 16 from three-point range, matching the second-fewest 3FGs in a win this season (2 at NC State, 3 vs. Elon).
• Carolina made 22 free throws, which equaled the most in a win this season (UCLA).
• NC State scored 23 points off 15 UNC turnovers. The 23 points tied the second-most allowed this season (25 by Duke) and were the most by an opponent in a UNC win.
• The 85 points are the third most scored by UNC this season (96 in a loss to Duke, 94 in a win over Miami).
Tar Heel Player Notes
• Garrison Brooks scored a game-high 30 points (his second career 30-point game) and had a game-high-tying nine rebounds. It was the eighth time this year he had 20 or more points.
• Brooks went 11 for 11 from the free throw line in the second half and was 14 for 16 from the line for the game (he came into the game shooting 4 for 25 from the line in his last six home games since he went 17 for 18 against Georgia Tech on Jan. 4).
• The 14 made free throws by Brooks equal the fourth most by a Tar Heel in the Smith Center.
• Christian Keeling scored a season-high 16 points (previous was 15 at Wake Forest on Feb. 11).
• Keeling has scored in double figures in five of the last seven games and scored nine or more in all seven games. Keeling is 34 for 61 from the floor (.557) and averaged 12.4 points in the last seven games.
• Keeling matched his season high with seven field goals (7 for 9 is his best shooting percentage of the season). He made two three-pointers for the second game in a row (first time he made two threes in any games this season).
• Justin Pierce had four offensive rebounds, most since he had four against Oregon on Nov. 29.
