March 7, 2020 | Women's Rowing
CHAPEL HILL – Beginning their championship season, the Tar Heels placed third at Clemson's Carolina Cup Saturday morning on lake Hartwell in Clemson, N.C.
"It was great out on the race course and have our first race of the season," interim co-head coach Thomas Revelle said. "It's exciting to be in season. Our 3V8 and 4V8 both beat Clemson's boat. I'm proud of them and proud of the team for racing and learning where we can work to improve and get better."
Winning each race, Duke clinched the Carolina Cup with 99 points. Clemson finished second with 87 points while Carolina came in third with 78.
"We were able to see where we stand against fast competition," Revelle said.
