CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina sophomore Aaron Sabato has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the league announced today.
ACC baseball weekly honors are determined by a vote of a media panel and are announced each Monday throughout the regular season. This week's selection is UNC's first of the 2020 season.
Sabato finished the five-game slate batting .333 and slugging 1.133, while he collected four home runs in 15 at-bats. Patient at the plate, Sabato drew 11 walks and ended the week with a team-high .615 on-base percentage.
Against Notre Dame, he belted three home runs and ended the weekend with a .500 batting average and a .750 on-base percentage.
The award is the second of his career.
