Zhou Named WGCA Honorable Mention All-American

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Building on an all-ACC freshman campaign in 2018-19, sophomore Jennifer Zhou has been selected an Honorable Mention All-America by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), announced Tuesday afternoon.

Zhou, a sophomore from Kunming, China, led the Tar Heels at three of their six tournaments played throughout the 2019-20 season. She finished in the top-25 in four tournaments, including a five-under-par 211 total for fifth place at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational. Zhou shot a low round, 69, twice during the season and placed 10th at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate before the season ended. The sophomore improved her season stroke average from 73.67 as a freshman to 72.27 in 2020.

Zhou is the first Tar Heel to receive WGCA honors since Casey Price was named an honorable mention all-American in 2012-13. Zhou is the 11th Tar Heel in program history to receive WGCA honors.
