
Daavettila, Graham, Morra Named ITA All-Americans

CHAPEL HILL - The North Carolina women's tennis program placed three of its standout players on the 2020 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-America list. Carolina and UCLA each received a total of five All-America selections to lead all of NCAA Division I.Â
Seniors Sara Daavettila and Alexa Graham, and sophomore Cameron Morra are representing the Tar Heels, who finished the truncated season ranked No. 1 in the nation with an unbeaten 18-0 record.Â
Senior Sara Daavettila garners her third All-America singles award in four seasons. The Williamston, Michigan, native also teamed with Graham to earn her second career All-America honor in doubles. Daavettila is now a five-time All-America selection - singles (2017, 2018, 2020) and doubles (2018, 2020).Â
Senior Alexa Graham earns All-America honors in both singles and doubles for the second year in a row. The native of Garden City, N.Y., joins past teammates Jessie Aney and Hayley Carter as the only three players in Tar Heel history to earn three All-America honors in doubles. Graham is a five-time All-America selection - singles (2019, 2020) and doubles (2018, 2019, 2020).
Sophomore Cameron Morra has been selected an All-America in singles for the second year in a row. The Rockville, Maryland, product joins past Tar Heel greats Hayley Carter and Jamie Loeb as the only three players in program history to earn All-America status in singles during their freshman and sophomore seasons.
In 17 seasons under the leadership of head coach Brian Kalbas, the Tar Heels have had 20 players receive a total of 55 All-America awards.
All-American Criteria
The ITA will award All-American status based on the unpublished, double run of ITA Singles and Doubles Rankings. 20 singles players and 10 doubles teams received this honor.
