CHAPEL HILL- The Baltimore Orioles signed Tar Heel senior outfielder Dylan Harris to a free agent contract, the organization announced today.

The outfielder was off to a hot start in 2020, as he finished the season batting .274 and slugging .575, with seven home runs. He also ranked second on the team with three stolen bases.

In 78 starts as a Tar Heel, Harris batted .260, collected eight stolen bases and hit 11 home runs. He collected three hits a trio of time in his career against Miami (March 17, 2019), Boston College (April 21, 2019) and Middle Tennessee (Feb. 15, 2020).

Harris came to UNC from Walters State, where he was named to the All-TCCAA first team in 2017. He batted .388 with 93 runs scored, 14 home runs and 59 RBI in 2018, where he was also named to the JUCO World Series All-Tournament team.

Harris joins Gianluca Dalatri as 2020 Tar Heels who have signed free agent deals since the 2020 MLB Draft.
