Carolina Notes
• Now 6-4,1-2 in the ACC
• 3-0 at home this season
• Tied its season high with eight three-pointers (second game in a row with eight; also at Georgia Tech on 12/30/20).
• Shot a season-low 34.8 percent from the floor.
• First time UNC has shot under 35 percent from the floor in a win since 2/25/2012 when UNC shot 33.3 percent (17 of 51) in a 54-51 win at Virginia.
• First time UNC has shot under 40 percent in both halves in a win since 12/7/2016, an 83-74 win over Davidson.
• Committed a season-low eight turnovers (previous nine vs. Charleston).
• Season-best assist-turnover ratio of 1.9 to 1 (15 assists, eight turnovers).
• Largest rebound margin of the season at plus 21. UNC out-rebounded the Irish, 48-27. Previous high was plus 20 vs. Stanford.
• Season-high 21 offensive rebounds (previous 20 vs. Texas).
• Notre Dame made 11 three-pointers (but only out-scored UNC by nine from beyond the arc). It was the third time this year an opponent made 10 or more, but this was the first of those three instances in which UNC won.
• This was the first time an opponent made 10 or more threes in a UNC win since Oregon made 12 on 11/29/2019 in The Bahamas.
• It was the sixth time this season UNC trailed at the half. UNC is 3-3 in those six (wins over Stanford, Kentucky and Notre Dame).

Tar Heel Player Notes
• Freshman Day'Ron Sharpe scored 19 of his game-high 25 points in the second half. His 25 points are the most by a UNC freshman post player since Tyler Hansbrough scored 27 at Duke on 3/4/2006.
• Prior to today, the season high for points in a game by a Tar Heel this season was 19 by Armando Bacot vs. NC Central.
• Sharpe also set season highs for Tar Heels in field goals (9) and offensive rebounds (7). He was 9 for 19 from the floor and 7 for 9 from the free throw line.
• Sharpe scored 19 of UNC's 37 points in the second half.
• Sharpe's 25 points are the most by a UNC freshman since Cole Anthony's 28 vs. Wake Forest on 3/3/20.
• Leaky Black made the game-winning basket with 9 seconds to play. It was the first time a Tar Heel made a go-ahead shot with less than a minute to play in a win since Joel Berry II made a field goal with 11 seconds to play in a 73-69 win over Wake Forest on 12/30/2017.
• Freshman Kerwin Walton was 4 for 8 from three-point range. The four three-pointers are the most by a Tar Heel this season.
• Walton has made 10 threes in the last four games (3 for 3 vs. Kentucky, 3 for 4 at Georgia Tech and 4 for 8 vs. Notre Dame).
• Sharpe (25) and Walton (12) were the only Tar Heels to score in double figures. It was the first time two freshmen were the only players with 10 or more points in a win since Anthony and Bacot vs. Gardner-Webb last season.
• Armando Bacot came into the game as UNC's leading scorer at 12.2 per game, but scored four points. He did have a game-high 10 rebounds, the fourth time this season and 19th time as a Tar Heel he grabbed double-figure rebounds.
• Garrison Brooks led UNC with a season-high four assists. It was the eighth time in his career he led UNC in assists.

• UNC has eight of the last nine.
• UNC is 10-4 since the Irish joined the ACC.
• UNC is 7-1 in the Smith Center.
• Roy Williams is 11-4 against Notre Dame (all while head coach of the Tar Heels).
