Carolina Notes
• Tar Heels have won three in a row and six of seven.
• Carolina has won its last two ACC games by 10 points apiece (86-76 over NC State and 75-65 at Pittsburgh). That followed an unprecedented stretch when UNC's first seven ACC games were decided by seven or fewer points.
• Carolina shot 60.7 percent from the floor in the second half, a season best in any half. The previous was the first half in its previous game vs. NC State (.568) and before that the second half vs. Wake Forest (.548).
• Thus, UNC has set its highest percentage from the floor in three of the last five halves over the last three games.
• Carolina had 22 assists on 32 field goals. The 22 assists matched the season high (in the loss at Iowa).
• Carolina had 22 assists and 13 turnovers (including an intentional shot clock violation with 0.8 to play). This was the fifth straight game UNC had more assists than turnovers. UNC did that in only three of the first nine games this season.
• UNC now has 244 assists and 238 turnovers in 16 games. This is the first time since the first game of the season UNC has more assists than turnovers (12/9 vs. Charleston).
• UNC shot 52.5 percent from the floor for the game. This was the second time this season and second time in as many games UNC shot 50 percent.Â
• UNC is 216-9 under Roy Williams when it shoots 50 percent from the floor.
• Williams is 896-258 overall, 478-157 at UNC, 208-91 in ACC regular-season games and 92-58 in ACC road games.
• It was Williams' 92nd ACC road win, third most all-time.
Â
Tar Heel Player Notes
• Armando Bacot led UNC with 21 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. It was the sixth time this season he led UNC in scoring and was his fourth double-double of the season (15th career).
• UNC is 9-3 when Bacot scores in double figures and 3-1 when he has a double-double this season.
• Bacot became the third Tar Heel to score 20 points this season (Day'Ron Sharpe 25 vs. Notre Dame, Caleb Love 20 vs. Wake Forest).
• Bacot was 8 for 10 from the floor, which follows his 8 for 10 performance vs. Wake Forest and 8 for 12 vs. NC State (he is 24 for 32 in the last three games).
• Garrison Brooks had 10 of his 16 points in the first half. The 10 points were the second most he has scored in a half in an ACC game this season (14 in the first vs. Syracuse).
• Brooks was 8 for 11 from the floor (.727), his highest percentage in a game this season with 10 or more attempts.
• Kerwin Walton scored 10 points, the fifth game he has scored in double figures.
• Love had five assists and only one turnover. The five assists matched the previous game vs. NC State for his high in an ACC game.
• Sharpe tied his season high with four assists. He had four total in the previous five games.
• Leaky Black had three steals, which tied his season high and was the seventh time in 16 games he had multiple steals. He leads the team with 24.
Â
Series Notes
• Carolina is 15-5 against Pittsburgh, including 8-4 since the Panthers joined the ACC prior to the 2013-14 season.
• Carolina is 6-2 at Pittsburgh – 1-0 at Fitzgerald Fieldhouse, 2-0 at the Civic Arena and 3-2 at the Petersen Center.
• Roy Williams is 8-4 against the Panthers as UNC's head coach and 9-4 overall.
