January 27, 2021 | Women's Rowing
CHAPEL HILL -- North Carolina interim co-head coaches Emilie Gross and Thomas Revelle announced the Tar Heels 2021 schedule on Wednesday, highlighted by the Lake Wheeler Invite to close out the regular season.
"Racing is going to look different than usual this spring," Gross said. "We are doing more day trips early in the season, fans will likely not be allowed, and we will be taking two buses - just to name a few. However, between the start and the finish line we have 2,000 meters and that is unchanged. We are here to compete for those 2,000 meters and know we have a very competitive schedule lined up for us with five different race weekends. I cannot wait to get the team back on the race course."
Carolina begins competition March 6 against Duke and Clemson in Clemson, S.C. Up next, the Tar Heels travel to Charlottesville, Virginia on March 26. UNC is set to face UCF and Tennessee.
In April, Carolina travels to Clemson a for a second time on April 17 to face the Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners. The Tar Heels wrap up the regular season by hosting 12 teams at the Lake Wheeler Invitational April 23-25 in Raleigh, N.C.
UNC returns to South Carolina for a third time to compete in the ACC Championship in Clemson, S.C. The 2021 NCAA Rowing Championships will take place May 28-30 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.
