Tar Heels Welcome Two Top-10 Foes To Chapel Hill

CHAPEL HILL -Â No. 14 North Carolina will host back-to-back ACC dual competitions this weekend in Carmichael Arena when it welcomes No. 3 NC State at 6 p.m. on Friday and No. 8 Virginia Tech at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Friday night's dual will be broadcast on the ACC Network, while Saturday's contest will be streamed on ACC Network Extra. There will be no general attendance for either event.

UNC (2-0, 1-0 ACC) enters the weekend following a 29-9 win over Duke last Friday to begin its conference competition. The team has six wrestlers ranked in Intermat's weekly rankings: No. 1 Austin O'Connor (149), No. 8 Kennedy Monday (165), No. 9 Devin Kane (174), No. 10 Zach Sherman (141), No. 11 Jaime Hernandez (133) and No. 15 Clay Lautt (184).

NC State (4-0, 2-0 ACC) has posted conference wins against Virginia and No. 12 Pittsburgh. The Wolfpack have a 21-match dual meet winning streak. The team is led by No. 2 Hayden Hidlay (157), No. 4 Trent Hidlay (184) and No. 4 Jakob Camacho (125).

Virginia Tech (5-0, 1-0 ACC) is coming off of a 19-15 win over Virginia last weekend to kick off its conference schedule. The Hokies will wrestle Duke in Durham on Friday before coming to Chapel Hill for the Saturday contest. Returning national champion, No. 1 Mekhi Lewis, leads the way for Virginia Tech.
