University of North Carolina junior Austin Greaser is tied for second place with a 3-under-par 69 after round one of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational Monday at the Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.
Carolina is seventh in the 10-team field after shooting 4-over 292 in the first round. Host school Arkansas leads at 10 under, Ole Miss is second at 3 under and Illinois shot 2 under. Those are the only three teams under par.
Tennessee finished at even par, Texas Tech was 1 over, Arizona +3, the Tar Heels were 4 over, UCLA 5 over, Louisville 9 over and Houston +15.
Greaser is one of six players at 3-under 69, two strokes behind Arkansas' Luke Long, who leads with a 67. Greaser led UNC with five birdies.
Tar Heel sophomore Peter Fountain is tied for 10th with a 1-under 71 that included two birdies and only one bogey.
David Ford and Ryan Gerard both shot 76 and Ryan Burnett had a 78.
Round two is Tuesday.
