Shaffmaster Earns Fourth ACC Freshman of the Week Honor

CHAPEL HILL – For the fourth time this season, Mabrey Shaffmaster has been named the ACC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday morning.
In Carolina's five set victory at Duke, Shaffmaster had a career performance with a match-best 27 kills on .375 hitting and eight digs, the fifth match of the season where she has tallied 20 or more kills.
The outside hitter from New Castle, Ind., currently leads all ACC freshmen in kills and ranks No. 9 in the conference in kills per set (3.53) and points per set (3.98).
Shaffmaster shares this week's honor with Georgia Tech freshman Bianca Bertolino. Georgia Tech's Breland Morrissette and NC State's Melissa Evans were named the ACC Volleyball Co-Players of the Week.
