Tar Heels Ranked No. 25 In Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll

CHAPEL HILL – The Tar Heels are ranked No. 25 in Collegiate Baseball's Fabulous 50 NCAA Division I preseason baseball poll presented by Big League Chew bubble gum the publication announced Monday.
The ACC led all conferences with nine teams in top 30: No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 11 Georgia Tech, No. 12, Florida State, No. 23 Miami, No. 24 Virginia, No. 26 Louisville, No. 27 NC State and No. 28 Duke. The Heels will take on each of those opponents, except Notre Dame, during league play.
Also joining Carolina in the preseason poll are non-conference opponents – No. 8 East Carolina, No. 29 Campbell, No. 37 Liberty and No. 44 South Carolina. UNC will play 29 games against teams ranked by CBN.
The Tar Heels return 27 lettermen from last season's 28-27 squad which advanced to the Lubbock Regional hosted by Texas Tech, including 15 position players and 12 pitchers. The 2022 roster also features 16 newcomers.
Carolina has made four consecutive NCAA regional appearances and advanced to postseason play in 17 of the previous 19 seasons (excluding 2020) with seven College World Series births.
The 2022 season begins Feb. 18 with a three-game series against Seton Hall on Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium. Season ticket and mini-season tickets plans are on sale. Fans can order tickets by clicking here.
