Tar Heels Pull Away From Appalachian State, 70-50

Bacot had 16 points and 10 rebounds for his eighth double-double In 12 games this season and his 26th career in just 19 minutes.
RJ Davis added 15 points on 7 of 10 shooting, while Brady Manek pitched in 11 points and 11 rebounds on 5 of 9 shooting.
Caleb Love finished with 11 points on 4 of 8 shooting with five assists and six turnovers. Kerwin Walton hit 2 of 3 three-pointers and chipped in six points in 10 minutes from long range.
The Tar Heels rebounded from last Saturday's loss to Kentucky in Las Vegas and improved to 9-3 this season. Â Appalachian fell to 6-7.
Carolina shot 55.2 percent from the floor in the second half (16 for 29) while holding the Mountaineers to 26.5 percent (9 for 34). UNC's defense limited Appalachian to 1 for 15 shooting from three-point range in the second half.
UNC posted a 47-33 rebounding edge that helped lead to a 38-28 advantage in points in the paint. Carolina comitted 15 turnovers.
The Tar Heels will now take an eight-day break for the holidays before returning to action at home on December 29 against Atlantic Coast Conference foe Virginia Tech.
