Women's Tennis Shuts Out Louisville

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina remained unbeaten all-time against Louisville after a 7-0 shutout in an ACC women's tennis match Friday afternoon inside Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The top-ranked North Carolina squad improved to 2-0 in the ACC, 11-0 overall and notched its 29th straight dual match victory. Louisville fell to 2-1 in the league and 5-3 overall.
Carolina secured the opening doubles point with the clinching match coming from Sara Daavettila and Cameron Morra on court one.
From there it was a race to see who would finish their singles matches first. All six resulted in straight-set victories for the Tar Heels.
First off was was graduate student Makenna Jones, on her 23rd birthday, picked up career singles win No. 104 on court four.
Freshman No. 120 Fiona Crawley improved to 11-0 in singles with a win on court five, and No. 79 Elizabeth Scotty clinched the match for the Heels on court three.
No. 53 Alle Sanford, No. 6 Cameron Morra and No. 4 Sara Daavettila followed with victories.
UNC owns a 6-0 record against the Cardinals, all coming since UofL joined the ACC.
Saturday's match with Notre Dame has been postponed due to COVID-related issues within the Fighting Irish program. The Tar Heels are home next week to host Miami on Saturday at noon and No. 5 Florida State on Sunday at noon.
