GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina finished in 12th place at the 2021 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships from the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

The Tar Heels wracked up 144 points as a team, the third most points among ACC programs. Fellow conference rivals Virginia and NC State finished 1-2 in the team standings with 491 and 354 points, respectively.

Junior Sophie Lindner grabbed honorable mention All-America honors for the second night in a row. On Saturday, Lindner swam a personal best time of 1:52.69 to finish 13th in the 200-yard backstroke, good for the second fastest time in program history.

Junior Grace Countie, already a multiple All-America honoree this week in the 50 free and 100 back, earned honorable mention All-America plaudits on Saturday in the 100 free with a time of 47.84, also the second fastest time in Tar Heel history.

Freshman Aranza Vazquez, who already finished runner-up in both the 1- and 3-meter events this week, placed sixth in the platform event on Saturday to garner All-America honors in all three disciplines.

Junior Emily Grund also competed in all three diving events and finished 18th in the 1- and 3-meters and wound up 20th in the platform.

The evening wrapped up with the 400-yard medley relay. Carolina again earned honorable mention All-America honors by placing 15th with a season best time of 3:15.26 thanks to the outstanding work of Lindner, Countie, Amy Dragelin and Heidi Lowe.
