CHAPEL HILL—North Carolina senior forward Giovanni Montesdeoca has been named the ACC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Virginia junior defender Oliver Gerbig was tabbed ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Montesdeoca scored a pair of second-half goals to lead the Tar Heels to a 3-0 win over fourth-ranked Pitt on Friday night. Thirteen minutes later, he scored on a penalty kick to ice the win.
