Monday Earns At-Large Bid to NCAAs, Tar Heels Will Take Eight to St. Louis

INDIANAPOLIS --- Kennedy Monday (165 pounds) has earned an at-large bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, the NCAA announced Tuesday afternoon. With Monday's addition to the field, North Carolina will officially send eight wrestlers to the tournament.
The tournament takes place March 18-20 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
The NCAA will release brackets and seeds on Wednesday.
This marks the third time Monday has qualified for the NCAA tournament. In his first appearance at the 2018 NCAA Wrestling Championships, he won three matches and made it to the Round of 12.
The North Carolina wrestlers competing at the event are below:
141 pounds: Zach Sherman
149 pounds: Austin O'Connor
157 pounds: Josh McClure
165 pounds: Kennedy Monday
174 pounds: Clay Lautt
184 pounds: Devin Kane
197 pounds: Max Shaw
285 pounds: Andrew Gunning
