Tar Heels Begin Two Week Road Trip with a Stop at Pittsburgh

CHAPEL HILL – Carolina begins an eight-game road trip with four games over the weekend versus the Pitt Panthers at Vartabedian Field. Â

Friday night begins the series with a 5 p.m. first pitch in the Steel City. A double header on Saturday, the Heels will face off against the Panthers at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. The series will wrap up on Sunday at 3 p.m.Â

Three of the four games will be broadcast on the linear ACC Network, Friday night, Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday. The other game, Saturday at 1 p.m., will be streamed on ACCNX.

The Tar Heels enter the weekend 12-15 overall, 8-9 in ACC play, while Pittsburgh comes into the weekend 10-25 with a 5-20 record in league play.Â

Recently for Carolina
This past weekend at Anderson stadium in Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels split the series 2-2 against the Virginia Cavaliers. On Sunday in the double header, Carolina went on to win 11-6 in the first leg, but not clinch the series, Wahoos dropping the second game, 8-5. Home runs by Dominique Monteon and Brittany Pickett also propelled North Carolina to a 7-3 victory on Saturday of the series.Â
