Zhou Leads Women's Golf With Pair of 73s

Tar Heels 6th at ACC Championship
Jennifer Zhou shot matching 1-over-par 73s in each of the first two rounds of the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Golf Championship Wednesday at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.
Zhou is tied for 18th place. The Tar Heels are in sixth place after shooting 296-299 for a 19-over total of 595.
Wake Forest leads after 36 holes at 11-under 565. Duke is second at 7 under, Florida State is third at 1 over, Virginia Tech is fourth at 7 over, Virginia is fifth at plus 14 and UNC is sixth. The third and final round of stroke play is Friday. The top four teams after stroke play advance to match play with semifinals on Saturday and the championship match on Sunday.
Duke's Gina Kim leads the individual championship at 7-under 137, a stroke better than FSU's Beatrice Wallin. The medalist will be determined after Friday's third round.
Zhou made four birdies in shooting 73 in Thursday's opening round. In round two, the junior from Kunming, China, was 3 over on the front side but had two birdies and an eagle on the par-5 15th hole en route to 2 under on the back and finished with another 73.
Nicole Adam (73-76) and Kayla Smith (73-76) are tied for 26th at 149, Natalia Aseguinolaza (80-74) is 40th at 154 and Crista Izuzquiza (77-78) is tied for 41st at 155.
