CHAPEL HILL—University of North Carolina goalie Taylor Moreno is the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association National Defensive Player of the Week, the IWLCA announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Moreno wins the award for a third time this season, previously winning the honor on February 16 (after the win over Stony Brook) and April 3 (after the regular season victory over Syracuse).
Moreno won ACC Tournament MVP honors last weekend for a second time (also winning the award in 2018).

Moreno led the Tar Heels to the 2021 ACC Tournament Championship and was named the Tournament MVP after posting a .611 save percentage and a goals-against average of just 4.78 per game during the Championship run. The senior goalkeeper collected six ground balls, caused two turnovers, made 22 saves, and allowed just 14 goals in three tournament wins: 19-6 over #19 Louisville; 18-4 against #5 Notre Dame; and 9-4 versus #3 Syracuse.
