Adam, Zhou Earn Academic Honors

Tar Heel Duo on ACC Academic Team
University of North Carolina women's golfers Nicole Adam and Jennifer Zhou are members of the Academic All-Atlantic Coast Conference team, the league announced today.

Adam, a freshman from Pinehurst, majors in biology. Zhou, a junior, majors in business administration. She also earned Academic All-ACC honors in 2019.

The ACC didn't select a team in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Adam qualified for the NCAA Regional, was second on the Tar Heels in stroke average (75.07) and shot UNC's best rounds of the season, a pair of 69s at the Gamecock Intercollegiate and Briar's Creek Invitational.

Zhou, a native of Kunming, China, led the Tar Heels this season with a stroke average of 74.93. She had a pair of top-20 finishes this year at the Palmetto Intercollegiate and Gamecock Intercollegiate.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the Academic All-ACC team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the Academic All-ACC team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
