ITA Honors Men's Tennis For Stellar 2020-21 Academics

CHAPEL HILL—The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its 2021 Division I Men's Academic Awards on Monday, and nine members of North Carolina's team earned Scholar-Athlete honors.
Tar Heels Brian Cernoch, Mark Dillon, Rinky Hijikata, Peter Murphy, Adam Neff, Josh Peck, Simon Soendergaard, Anuj Watane and Logan Zapp all were named 2020-21 Division I Men Scholar-Athletes.Â
Additionally, the Tar Heel team was named an All-Academic Team for its achievements in the classroom across the board.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, players must meet the following requirements:
- have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- be listed on the institutional eligibility form
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
