Ferner Earns All-America Honors
July 14, 2021 | Women's Rowing
UNC Rowing's 4th All-America
University of North Carolina senior Lauren Ferner was selected to the Pocock College Rowing Coaches Association's 2021 Honorable Mention All-America team.
Â
The Corning, N.Y., native is Carolina Rowing's first All-America since 2007 and the fourth Tar Heel to earn All-America honors.
Â
Ferner was previously selected to the 2021 All-ACC and Academic All-ACC teams.
Â
Pocock All-America selections must have rowed in at least 75 percent of their team's races. Boat performance, nomination by head coaches, individual achievements and 2,000-meter erg scores are considered for selection.
Â
Ferner is returning to Carolina for a fifth-year to row in 2022 under first-year head coach Erin Neppel, who was a second-team All-America at UNC in 2001.
Â
Ferner was a mainstay for the Tar Heels in the varsity eight.
