Hoeg Wins NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Katie Hoeg, one of the most decorated players in UNC women's lacrosse program history, has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. She will utilize the $10,000 as she begins graduate studies at UNC's Adams School of Dentistry this fall.
"I am extremely grateful to continue pursuing my dreams as a Tar Heel," Hoeg said. "My student-athlete experience at UNC was second to none. I am honored to be given the opportunity to further represent this amazing university as I transition to dental school."
Hoeg, from Mattituck, N.Y., graduated in May after majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry and English. She is the Tar Heel program's all-time leader in points and assists and ranks second in NCAA history in career assists and fourth in Atlantic Coast Conference history in points. A four-time All-America honoree, she was the recipient of UNC's Jim Tatum Memorial Award as the top all-around senior, excelling in athletics, academics and service.
She was selected in the inaugural Athletes Unlimited College Draft in June.
NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships are awarded three times per year (fall, winter and spring sports) to 21 female and 21 male athletes. For more information on the program, click here.
In addition to the NCAA scholarship, Hoeg was selected for an ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship.
