Dickey Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) -Â North Carolina senior goalkeeper Claudia Dickey has been tabbed ACC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Dickey logged a pair of stellar outings to lead second-ranked North Carolina to a pair of road wins against Big Ten opponents, Illinois and Ohio State. She faced 23 shots with 10 saves and only one goal allowed in 180 minutes of action in the net last week.
Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Dickey tallied a career-high nine saves in a shutout against the Buckeyes. That mark stands as the most by an ACC goalkeeper this season.
ACC women's soccer action returns Thursday afternoon with all 14 of the league's teams in action, highlighted by fifth-ranked Duke hosting No. 13 Stanford at 7 p.m. and six matches airing on ACC Network Extra.
