Another Stellar Weekend For Tar Heels In WLAX Pro Ranks

CHAPEL HILL—Former University of North Carolina players continued their exploits in the Athletes Unlimited professional women's lacrosse league at the Maureen Hendricks Field at the Maryland SoccerPlex over the weekend of August 6-8.
Kayla Wood continues to rank near the top of the AU individual leaderboard, ranking second with 1,088 total points. Other Tar Heels on the leaderboard include Caylee Waters (No. 5, 1,010 points), Caroline Wakefield (No. 16, 811), Marie McCool (No. 19, 774), Sammy Jo Tracy (No. 23, 747), Emily Parros (No. 34, 633), Amber McKenzie (No. 37, 607) and Kristen Carr (No. 47, 531).
A few Tar Heel-centric highlights from the third weekend of action in the Athletes Unlimited league:
• Tracy posted a hat trick in a victory on Friday for Team Arsenault, scoring two of her three goals in the opening quarter.
• McCool led Team Read on Friday with her second hat trick of the season in a loss to Team Ohmiller.
• Tracy posted another hat trick on Saturday, helping Team Arsenault explode for a league season-high 16 goals in a 16-10 win over Team Read.
• Midfielder and UNC assistant coach Parros as her free-position goal with six seconds remaining gave Team Read an 11-10 victory over Team Read at
