Carolina Improves to 10-0 with Straight Set Victory over Charlotte

CHAPEL HILL – The Carolina volleyball team improved to 10-0 on Friday night, defeating Charlotte in straight sets and improving to 17-0 in the all-time series over the 49ers.
With a team-high 13 kills, Nia Parker-Robinson recorded her fourth straight match in double-digits. Kaya Merkler, who entered the matchup with the highest hitting percentage in the ACC, finished the night tied with Skyy Howard with a team-best three blocks on the night.
Meghan Neelon and Emma Reynolds split time as the Tar Heels main setters, combing for 24 assists.
As a team, Carolina had a .240 attacking clip, while holding the 49ers to a season-low .122.
The Tar Heels continue to be off to its best start since the 2013 team went 15-0 to open the season. With Miami losing its first game of the season to UCF on Thursday, North Carolina remains one of just three unbeaten teams left in the ACC: Pitt (9-0) and Louisville (9-0).
Carolina will look to finish off the week 3-0 when they welcome Davidson on Saturday for a 4 p.m. match which will be streamed on ACCNX.
