Carolina Shines At Furman Fall Classic

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The North Carolina women's tennis team opened up the 2021 fall season at the Furman Fall Classic. The doubles team of senior Cameron Morra and freshman Carson Tanguilig captured the flight 1 title to highlight a busy weekend on the courts.
Morra and Tanguilig, in her collegiate debut, defeated Duke's Chloe Beck and Ellie Coleman, 6-2, in the flight 1 championship match.
In singles, No. 32 Morra picked up a pair of top-25 victories over No. 21 Carolyn Campana of Wake Forest, 7-5, 6-4, and No. 22 Emma Antonaki of Mississippi State, 6-3, 7-5, in flight 1.
Tanguilig and fellow freshman Lindsay Zink both have advanced to the finals of their respective flights. Tanguiligdefeated senior Margaryta Bilokin from Duke, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, to reach the finals in flight 7.
Zink picked up a pair of straight-set victories in Flight 11 to reach the title match, but but ultimately lost in a tough three-set battle to Georgia Tech's Kate Sharabura, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
