Kiger & Murphy Advance To Doubles Final At Duke Bonk Invite

CARY, N.C.—The University of North Carolina doubles team of senior Mac Kiger and sophomore Peter Murphy won its first two matches this weekend at the Duke Bonk Invite at the Cary Tennis Park, advancing to the championship match on Sunday.
Top-seeded in the Doubles A Draw, Kiger and Murphy advanced to Sunday's final with a pair of wins on Friday. First, they defeated Juan Lopez de Azcona & Jakob Schnaitter (Wake Forest), 6-3. Then they beat NC State's team of Fons Van Sambeek & C. Schick, 6-3, in the semfinals to advance to Sunday morning's final.
In singles action, Kiger and Murphy both advanced to the A Draw quarterfinals before losing on Saturday.
Tar Heels Logan Zapp and Anuj Watane also took part in action in Cary. Full results through Saturday are below.
