Brown Sweeps ACC Women's Weekly Awards

Another week, another Atlantic Coast Conference honor for the UNC cross country program.
Following a first-place finish at the Battle in Beantown meet last Friday, Tar Heel freshman Brynn Brown has been named both ACC Performer of the Week and ACC Freshman of the Week. Her 5K time of 16:53 in her collegiate debut led the 195-runner field and paced the Tar Heels to a team win.
Brown's ACC honor follows last week's recognition of Carolina's Parker Wolfe as the ACC Men's Freshman of the Week, after he won the Adidas XC Challenge in his Tar Heel debut.
The No. 23 UNC men are back in action on Friday, racing at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. The women, up a spot to a tie for 12th in this week's USTFCCCA national poll, compete next on Oct. 15 at the FSU XC Invite in Tallahassee, Fla.
