Babic Named ACC Freshman Of The Week

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Freshman setter Anita Babic has been named the ACC Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. It is the first weekly honor of Babic's career and the third weekly award of the season for the Tar Heels.

Babic ran the offense in Carolina's two matches over the weekend, tallying 76 assists and averaging 9.50 assists per set. She also had 12 digs, three service aces, three blocks and five kills.

Against Syracuse on Sunday, the Phoenix, Az., native recorded her third career double-double with 40 assists and 10 digs. She has had a double-double in three of the last four matches.

Babic currently ranks No. 6 in the ACC in assists, averaging 8.70 assists per set on the season.
