Seggerman & Cernoch Drop First-Round Matches In San Diego

SAN DIEGO—University of North Carolina graduate students Brian Cernoch and Ryan Seggerman lost their initial doubles match on Wednesday at the 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Fall National Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center.Â
Max Westphal and Theo Winegar of Columbia beat the Tar Heel duo 6-1, 7-5 in the Round of 32 on Wednesday night.
Earlier in the day, Alabama's Enzo Aguiard beat Seggerman in the singles Round of 32 in three sets, 6-1, 1-6, 7-5.
In Thursday's consolation bracket, Cernoch and Seggerman will meet Gabriel Huber and Michael Minasyan of Wisconsin, while Seggerman will play Michigan's Gavin Young at 4 p.m. Eastern in the singles consolation draw.
Men's and women's ITA action throughout much of the day on Wednesday was delayed by two hours or more due to morning rain in the area.
