Dekanoidze and Knower Earn EAGL Weekly Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina freshmen gymnasts Julia Knower and Lali Dekanoidze have each earned East Atlantic Gymnast League (EAGL) weekly honors, the league announced on Wednesday.
Dekanoidze was named the EAGL Gymnast of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time this season. Knower was tabbed EAGL Rookie of the Week, the first weekly honor of her career.

Scores: Vault: 9.90, Bars: 9.825, Beam: 9.850, Floor: 9.875, AA: 39.450
Scores: Floor: 9.90, Beam: 9.875, Bars: 9.80, Vault: 9.750, AA: 39.325
No. 25 Carolina travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Friday for a tri-meet with No. 9 Alabama and No. 17 Western Michigan. The meet will air live at 8:35 on the SEC Network.

Scores: Vault: 9.90, Bars: 9.825, Beam: 9.850, Floor: 9.875, AA: 39.450
- Earned her second all-around title of the season in victory over Pitt and Towson on Jan. 28, matching career-best of 39.450
- Has posted the top-two all-around scores this season in the EAGL
- Ranks as the No. 1-ranked all-arounder in the EAGL and tied as No. 1 on vault
- Claimed vault title, her second of the season, and matched her career-best of 9.90. It was the top EAGL vault score on the weekend
Scores: Floor: 9.90, Beam: 9.875, Bars: 9.80, Vault: 9.750, AA: 39.325
- Anchored the floor lineup, setting a new career-best of 9.90 and securing the .25 victory over Towson
- Set a new career-best in the all-around with a 39.325
- Tied for top floor score in the EAGL on the weekend
