Carolina Field Hockey Earns Academic Team Award

The North Carolina field hockey team has been honored with a 2021 Division I NFHCA National Academic Team Award, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced on Monday. The award goes to teams that achieved an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better in the fall 2021 semester.

The team award follows the announcement of NFHCA individual awards earlier this month. Twelve Tar Heels were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, which requires a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher through the fall semester.
Additionally, seven Tar Heels were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for 2021 and senior Erin Matson shared Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
