Baseball Makes Top 25 Debut

CHAPEL HILL – The University of North Carolina baseball team has moved into the most recent USA Today Coaches and D1 Baseball rankings at No. 24 in the national polls after winning a series against East Carolina. The Diamond Heels also moved up five spots in the Collegiate Baseball poll to No. 21.
The Diamond Heels are 6-1 overall following after they posted 3-1 record last week with a midweek victory over Elon before taking two of three from ECU this past weekend.

Carolina did not break the top 25 in the Baseball America or Perfect Game national polls but did receive votes and consideration in both. This week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll has yet to be released.
The Diamond Heels open a five-game homestand Tuesday against Longwood at 4 p.m. before hosting Winthrop on Wednesday, also at 4 p.m. UNC welcomes Coastal Carolina to Boshamer Stadium for a three-game weekend series beginning Friday at 4 p.m.
