Baseball Picked Fifth In ACC Coastal Division

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of North Carolina baseball team has been picked to finish fifth in the ACC's Coastal Division by the league's 14 coaches, the conference announced this afternoon.
Eight coaches picked Georgia Tech to win the Coastal Division, while Virginia had five first-place votes and Miami one. The Yellow Jackets tallied 91 total points, followed by Virginia (77), Miami (71) and defending ACC champion Duke placed fourth in the voting with 60 points. Virginia Tech (25) and Pitt (24) came in behind North Carolina (44).
Florida State was picked to finish atop the Atlantic Division with 88 total points, followed by NC State with 76 and Notre Dame with 70. Louisville placed fourth with 64, followed by Clemson (43), Wake Forest (35) and Boston College (18). The Seminoles received eight votes as the division favorite, while Notre Dame had three, Louisville two and NC State one.
The Seminoles received eight votes as the likely conference champion and were selected as the ACC preseason favorite. Virginia collected three votes, followed by Notre Dame with two and NC State with one.
The Tar Heels will open the 2022 season on Friday, Feb. 18 at Boshamer Stadium against Seton Hall with a 3 p.m. first pitch. Season tickets, mini-season ticket plans and individual game tickets are on sale at GoHeels.com or by calling the UNC Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 722-4335.
