Pre-Seeds Announced For ACC Wrestling Championships

CHAPEL HILL – The Tar Heels received their seeds today for the ACC Wrestling Championships on March 6 at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va.
Set to begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, the first round, semifinals, and consolation rounds will be streamed on ACC Network Extra. The finals will air on ACC Network at 7 p.m.
Austin O'Connor (157) and Clay Lautt (174) earned the top seed in their weight class. Three Tar Heels enter the conference tournament as two seeds in their respective brackets, including Joe Heilmann (133), Kizhan Clarke (141), and Gavin Kane (184).
Zach Sherman (149) and Max Shaw (197) are both seeded fourth, while Brandon Whitman earns the sixth seed at 285 pounds.
Spencer Moore and Isaias Estrada will be making their postseason debuts for the Tar Heels. Moore will be the No. 5 seed at 125 pounds, while Estrada will wrestle as the No. 5 seed in the 165 bracket.
