Men's Tennis Earns No. 15 Seed In NCAA Field

Atlantic Coast Conference runner-up North Carolina is the No. 15Â overall seed in the 64-team field for the 2022 NCAA men's tennis tournament and will host first- and second-round action this weekend, the NCAA announced on Monday evening.
The Tar Heels have earned NCAA Tournament bids 26 times under the tutelage of 29th-year head coach Sam Paul. Carolina will be hosting NCAA Tournament matches for the eighth consecutive year and ninth in the last 10.
UNC is making its 28th NCAA Touirnament appearance.
Carolina will meet Navy (31-10) in the first round on Friday May 6 at 5 p.m. at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. The winner of that match will advance to Saturday's second round to meet either Princeton (18-8) or Arizona (20-8), who will meet in Cary at 2 p.m. on Friday in a first-round match.
Whoever wins two matches this weekend in Cary will move on to play the winner of the group that includes No. 2 seed Florida , Miami, South Florida, and New Orleans the following weekend.
UNC is 16-8 this season entering NCAA Tournament play. Carolina has won eight of its last 10 matches, entering NCAA play on a hot streak. Two weeks ago at the ACC Tournament, the Tar Heels reached the championship match for the second year in a row with wins over NC State and Georgia Tech before falling to Virginia in the final.
