Cernoch's Season Comes To An End In NCAA Round Of 16

CHAMPAIGN, ILL.—University of North Carolina senior Brian Cernoch's run in the 2022 NCAA Singles Championship came to an end on Wednesday.
Cernoch, ranked No. 33 nationally, lost to sixth-ranked August Holmgren (USD), 6-2, 6-4, on Wednesday afternoon.
Previously, Cernoch picked up a big win on Tuesday, beating Jeffrey von der Schulenburg of Virginia in straight sets to advance to the Round of 16. Cernoch rallied after trailing, 4-1, in the first set to win, 7-6 (4), then cruised to win the second set, 6-1.
