Tar Heels Selected As Baseball Regional Host

Chapel Hill -- North Carolina will host a regional in Chapel Hill, the NCAA announced Sunday night. This will be the 12th time that UNC has hosted a tournament regional, the 11th time since 2006. With Carolina winning the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship, the Diamond Heels earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Baseball Championship.
The full field of 64 teams will be announced Monday, May 30 at noon on ESPN2. Ticket information will be released as soon as possible following the bracket announcement.
The Tar Heels are 29-7 all-time in home regional games and have advanced to ta Super Regional eight times since the current format was implemented in 1999. This will be the first time the Tar Heels have hosted a regional under head coach Scott Forbes. The 2022 appearance marks the 34th time for the Tar Heels in the NCAA field.
