Seven Tar Heel Rowers Named To All-ACC Academic Team

CHAPEL HILL -Â The University of North Carolina rowing team placed seven student-athletes on the 2022 All-ACC Academic team.

Carolina's honorees include:
 Â
Cara Cunningham, a freshman from Rye, N.Y., majors in management and society and was a coxswain on the first varsity eight.
 Â
Alessandra De Vito, a senior from Newton, Mass., majors in economics and political science, earned All-ACC honors this season and rowed on the first varsity eight.
 Â
Jessica Judge, a junior from Raleigh, N.C., majors in statistics and analytics and rowed on the second varsity eight.
 Â
Gigi Maroney, a sophomore from New Buffalo, Mich., majors in sociology and rowed on the varsity eight.
 Â
Isabelle McGimsey, a sophomore from Raleigh, N.C., majors in human development and family studies and was a coxswain on the first varsity four.

Amanda Perez, a senior from Ridgewood, N.J., majors in psychology and rowed on the first varsity eight.
Â
Nicole Van Liew, a junior from Apex, N.C., majors in biomedical engineering and rowed on the first varsity four.
Â
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic team.
