10 Tar Heels Earn Spots On IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

CHAPEL HILL – Ten University of North Carolina women's lacrosse players landed on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the organization Wednesday afternoon.
The national champion Tar Heels earning the prestigious honor include Anna Barton, Julia Dorsey, Amanda Fedor, Gabi Hall, Ally Mastroianni, Emily Nalls, Brooklyn Neumen, Emma Trenchard, Tayler Warehime and Maddie Hoffer.
To be eligible for the award, recipients must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic grade-point average of 3.50 or greater. In total, the IWLCA honored 870 student-athletes from 94 different institutions.Â
Fedor, Hoffer, Mastroianni, Trenchard and Warehime garnered IWLCA Academic Honor Roll recognition for the second straight year.
The 10 Tar Heels earning IWLCA recognition is the second-most amongst Atlantic Coast Conference teams. Six of the UNC players – Dorsey, Hall, Mastroianni, Nalls, Trenchard and Warehime – also received All-ACC Academic Team nods last month.Â
Additionally, the IWLCAÂ named North Carolina as an Academic Honor Squad for the 2021-22 year, one of 295 schools across Division I, II, III and NAIA to earn the accolade. To qualify for this honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
