Heels Begin Second Week Of Scrimmages

Chapel Hill, NC --Â Â The North Carolina Tar Heels held a modified 3 1/2 inning scrimmage on Monday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium with the Blue squad taking a 4-2 win over Navy. Each pitcher hurled one inning with pitch count determining the length of the inning. One inning had less than three outs while another had more.
Mac Horvath led off the scrimmage with a home run to left, then Austin Hawke drilled a solo homer later in the inning. Blue tied the score in the bottom of the inning on Alberto Osuna's mammoth homer to left center.
Vance Honeycutt ripped a two-run homer to left center in the second to cap off the scoring. Tomas Frick and Dylan King each doubled in the scrimmage for the other extra-base hits.
Dalton Pence, Kyle Percival, Max Carlson, Jake Knapp, Matthew Matthijs, Cameron Padgett and Matt Poston each threw half an inning.
The Tar Heels will hold their next scrimmage on Tuesday.
